Buying facts
The puppy must be at least 8 weeks when it leaves the breeder.
A breeder who is connected to Swedish Kennel club delivers the puppy with:
- registration document, that is the dogs identity card.
- a veterinary inspection certificate that is not older than a week.
- a contract of sale, signed by both of you. The breeder will tell you if the puppy is vaccinated and insured.
- instructions about feeding and nursing the puppy.
- the puppy shall also be ID-marked when it leaves the breeder.
All this to ensure that you as a puppy buyer will feel more secure and get more information about what you are buying.
Innocculations etc.
Before delivery the puppy should have been dewormed. The breeder will enlighten you whether the puppy is vaccinated and when it’s time to vaccinate next time. For some breeds it’s recommended to x-ray the dog to see HD/AD status when the dog is 18 months.
Insure your dog
I recommend all dog owners to insure their dogs. An accident can happen pretty easily and a visit at the veterinarian can end up very expensive. A hunting dog in particular is exposed to risks.
