Now there has been some small game hunting. That’s what I wanted to focus on for a while. Partly as ducks and geese hunting is incredibly fun and partly because the dogs have lost some weight and had to recover a bit. When hunting as much as we do, it is probably a good idea to take a little break for recovery’s sake and to keep the joy of the hunt. It has been Nelly who has been taking care of the most part of the retrieving. It’s so nice to have a versatile dog that you can have with you for almost everything. It’s hard to get pictures as we often hunt at dusk. But here are a couple of clips again

Now in the middle of hunting season it’s difficult to find time to write about all the adventures. But in short, it has been hunting four days a week in average. There has been some tome for in between but it is not as quantitatively or qualitatively as it should.

I am taking some time to update a little about what has happened to some AlpenlĂ€ndishe Dachsbracken. I would like to give my Congratulations to Ronny with Taz and Stefan with Bety who both brought their ADB imports to become Swedish Tracking Champions! Now Bety has even start working as a driven gun dog and so far it looks good. So once again well done! …More »
Today I want to draw attention to one of my “most” students. Anders with his Wachtel Loke said even before he got home his puppy that he would train the all-around. The course includes retrieving if you have a Wachtel, so we had a nice spring and summer with training everyday obedience, and then specialty training. The other day I received a nice MMS, email with the media and reporting on Loki’s first pheasant hunt. We will all probably remember when we had to postpone our first game of our youth, and when you see the penny down and cooperation have become closely knit. So I could not help but to smile and lift the hat to Anders for his fine job he already has done on Loki. See for yourselves how much fun they have together. …More »
